Beach in the city

Standard

IMG_2837[1]We plan to go out of town (more specifically to the beach) sana for Mei and Sally’s birthday. Puro fully booked ang mga resorts.

I suggested this Azure Beach Resort in Paranaque.

We booked 3 rooms. 1 for Sally and family, 1 for Glen and family, 1 for us (Lagula family and Jhen’s). The unit with 2 bedrooms cost P6500 (complete kitchen equipment, a/c, bathroom; no hot water though, veranda; Sally and Glen’s unit has beach view, ours eh city view) additional 20bucks per head for the bracelet to enter the beach/pool.

Sally’s family provided lunch and dinner. Nag-grocery din kame for few snacks. Lunch was relyenong bangus and inihaw na pusit. Nagpasarap pa ang coke! Yum

After eating nag-ready na iba para mag-beach.

No Chloe in the picture kase sleeping pa ang bebe girl.

The gang and the kids

We didnt stay long, kaya umakyat na rin kame sa rooms namin. Nagkukwentuhan while waiting for dinner. Dumating din sila Thina and Terence, Ezi and Bong, saw Nona sa pool area.

Dinner was fried chicken and mechado.

IMG_2759[1]
The next day, woke up early. Nag coffee and breakfast and nag-ready na rin kame mag check out. Check out is 10:30am, kaaga. Hahaha

Dumiretso kame kila Thina, ate lunch there. Busog again, we had crispy pata and peking duck. OH and coke!

Dumating si Onin later on para sukatan kame for Sally’s wedding.

Went home after and nag-rest.

  1. Boracay – my forever favorite island in the world (as of now coz I’ve never been to any beach outside Philippines. Oh except in 2002, when I was in the US nag-beach kame in Venice, not pretty hahaha). This was biglaan, as two of my long time friends planned in going. Kinulit ako and 2 days before the trip, I bought a roundtrip ticket.
  2. Baserri de Lipa – obviously, it is located in Batangas. This was a Holy Week panata with my bff’s. But since Sally was here for a short vacay only and no definite plans, Otchie looked for a place where we can spend our Holy Week.
  3. Nasugbu – another Batangas getaway. It was Jemjem’s birthday and we want to go to the beach lang. I told Alfie we can share na lang. Sya naman din talaga ang may gusto mag out of town. I am happy kase nag-enjoy naman si Jem, even si Brenda eh nakabakasyon.
  4. Laiya – guess what, Batangas again. Hahahaha it was our company outing, and ayaw masyado lumayo. We stayed at Kabayan Beach Resort, good thing they have available room. Yun lang, good for 20 people and 7 lang kame. I enjoyed naman kahit di ko ma-enjoy yun dagat. Ang dami pang tao.
But I just cant stop coming to Boracay. I was with the Avon peeps, we booked a tour with Yapak ni Jose! Ang saya kase solo namin ang van, and comfortable. Di ako nabitin sa water and ice.
  6. Dasol – Pangasinan. My second time here. Independence day holiday and nangangati nako maglakwatsa. Good thing, may gala sila Joyce and sinama ako. I had fun, and super tawanan yung trip.
  7. Magalawa Island – Zambales. I’ve heard about this couple of months before kame nakapunta rin. Buti sumama ako, ganda sya. And memorable yun trip because of my ATM moment.
  8. Cebu – my second time in Cebu. Biglaan. At least this time, nakapasyal ako. We went to two  of 90+ falls in Cebu. When I heard we’re going to the falls instead of the beach, na-sad ako sa totoo lang. But, di ko pa rin pinagsisihan kase I had fun! The trecking and sitting on that cliff just for a photo, was just liberating. I was too scared kase ayoko sa mga edges, pero ang saya!

Ang konti ng 2015 ko, but better than none. I wish for more travels in 2016.

And my wishlist are:
Siquijor
Camiguin
Enchanted River in Surigao
Coron
Bohol
Bantayan Island, Cebu
More of El Nido

Australia
Phuket
Japan
Amsterdam
Paris

[7th in 2015] Magalawa Island

Standard

This is my second out of town trip with the Layas peeps and long weekend ulet.

Been hearing about this island for couple of months now. And so, napuntahan din sa wakas.

Budget was at least 2k dapat. For bus (Manila-Zambales-Manila), boat transfer, room, island hopping and food. I brought 3k para sure. Coz uhawin ako and of course para sa mga ang etcetera lang.

We were at Victory Liner Pasay around 3ish. Bus left 4am. Slept the whole time pero mababaw sobra coz nakakatakot yun driver. And syempre sa stop over. We had 3 stop overs (in Pampanga and Zambales). Nakarating kame ng siguro 10:30 at Barangay Pangolingan, Palauig in Zambales. Took a trike (2 persons per tricycle) to Luan Port which took 30 mins din. first 15mins rough, then about 5 na flat, then rough again.

Magalawa Island from Luan Port.

Magalawa Island from Luan Port.

A boat fetched us from Luan, 2 balikan din coz 12 kame (10 kame sa group and may 2 pa kame kasabay). Mga 5-7 minutes na tawid din.

Then, nag-settle kame sa mga kubo namin. And humanap kakainan. Found Ate Leny’s store.

After eating lunch, nag-ready na kame for our photoshoot. Hahaha paid 50 each at Armada Resort para makapag pic kame sa sandbar. Its a good thing pumayag sila. Kase I read sa ibang blogs, di sila pumapayag magpapasok don pag guest ng kabilang resort.

Stayed there for a while. And pagbalik ng Ruiz, rest lang for a while and went to Armada for dinner. No pic ng food but it was delish. We had frie lapu-lapu and pampano, fresh crab, sinigang na hipon, unli rice, fudgee bar and coke. Busog!

Went back to Ruiz, kwentuhan. At sinimulan ang nomo. No pictures, but full of laughter. At 12mn, we called it a night.

Woke up at 6ish. Went to Ate Leny’s store for coffee and paluto of our breakfast. May dala akong vienna sausage, spam and corned beef. So nagpaluto na lang kame ng rice and scrambled eggs. Busog again. And nag-ready na for Masinloc.

It’s high tide pa kaya we didnt really enjoy the sand bar at Masinloc. Sayang.

Back in Dasol

Standard

June 12-13, 2015

Went back to Dasol Pangasinan for the long weekend. But di naman sinagad yun 3 days. Almost, but didnt. Hahaha

This time I went with Joyce and her IG friends. We first met at Starbucks Reserve thursday night. Waited for Alex, Joanne and Will. Rode an Uber car to Victory Liner in Cubao. Since long weekend, kinda mahirap sumakay. We got there around 1. Nakasakay kame ng bus 4am na (aircon bus Cubao to Alaminos P393). Bus left 4:30 am. Natulog kame. At 9am, bumaba na kame ng Terminal in Alaminos. Rode another bus (ordinary) going to Sta. Cruz. Bumaba kame at Burgos market (alala ko yon kase nagpunta rin kame don last year nila Sally para magtanong and stop over lang). Pahinga slight, some bought burgers, some halo halo. Waited for our sundo and ate lunch sa market. After eating, namalengke yun iba and kame naghintay lang.

And then rode a trike going to Tambobong, its a 40mins long ride. Ok naman kase di na sya kasing bumpy like last year. Fare is P350/trike. Since 10 kame, we rented 3 trikes.

Pagdating Tambobong, sinalubong kame ni Ate Venus (09292326947), she’s really accommodating and nice even her husband kuya Rommel (I think yan name nya). The house is nice, simentado sya. May fridge, 3 bedrooms (but only 2 rooms ang pinapa-ren coz sa mga anak na nila yun isang room), 2 bathrooms (1 sa masters  bed and 1 outside ng rooms), kitchen, sala. Kumpleto actually.

In front of Ate Venus' house

In front of Ate Venus’ house

They arranged bangka na rin for us. 2 bangka daw coz di kame kasya sa isa. P200/head.

We first went to Cullebra Island. Umambon pa while nasa bangka kame. So medyo makulimlim pagdating sa island. But later on umaraw na. Syempre picture.

Cullebra Island

Cullebra Island

We left the island medyo malungkot coz we wanted to stay. But ok lang.

Next stop, Cabacungan Cove. Mas malayo pinagbabaan samin ngayon kesa nung kame last year nila Sally. 😉

Cabacungan Cove

Cabacungan Cove

Di ko na pinasok yun cave, so I stayed na lang sa labas and naghintay sa kanila.

Pagbalik sa Tambobong, pahinga slight at kwentuhan. Tagal magkakuryente, kaya sa beach muna kame.

Group pic at Tambobong. (pic from Will)

We stayed at the beach til sunset. And nag-wash up na kame.

Pag-gising, hilamos, kape. Naghintay ng almusal. Hahaha kumain, naligo at nag-impake. Kaya nagpakuha na kame ng trike, nag-bus kame from Dasol to Alaminos. Bus again from Alaminos hanggang sa bahay namin. Nagpaluto ako lunch. Busog naman lahat. After eating, nagpahinga at naghintay ng oras. Tapos pumunta na kame sa Lingayen. Pictorial sa Capitol. Hihi

Namili sila pasalubong sa palengke. Then we had dinner at McDonald’s. Bumalik kame sa bahay and nag-impake.

Fun trip! Enjoy ako sa mga new found friends!!!

[4th in 2015] Calaguas Island 2015

Standard
Calaguas Island

Calaguas Island

It is my fourth visit to this Island (16-17 May 2015). And it is my first time to see A LOT of people on this Island. Akala ko nasa Puerto Galera or Boracay nako eh. But no, kase hindi kasing clear ng water ng Calaguas ang Boracay or Puerto Galera.

Last time I was here was in 2013. Oo, medyo matao na that time, may isang resort na rin na ginagawa. Pero fewer cottages/nipa huts, bathrooms, fewer people, no electricity and yeah may nagpa-party na rin. In 2012, mas lalo wala ang mga ito.

This time, malayo layo pa sa Island kitang kita na ang dami ng boats naka park, mga tents na nakatayo, cottages and there are now big nipa huts na pag mamay ari na ng resorts or sino man. 😉

May kuryente na, well of course gawa ng generator. They said lights out at 12, pero nagising ako ng past 2 am, may ilaw pa.

Meron nag-team building, and nag party nung gabi. Akala nila Boracay, kase di sila basta party lang. They wanted a naughty party. As in the MC or host or whoever he was, sumisigaw ng body shots, pero wala naman sumasali. They’re also screaming who want to have s*x or who’s having s*x that night. Stuffs like that. They stopped naman ng 12midnight. But there’s also this one big boat na nakapark lang don and didnt stop mag-videoke.

Oh well, they say some like the parties and pagbabago ng Island. Some dont, they want the quietness of the Island. Just that, sana ingatan ang island. Some kalat I picked na rin and nilagay sa trash.

Anyway, syempre nag-enjoy mga friends ko sa first trip nila in Calaguas Island. Worth it daw ang 9 hours sa kalsada and 2 hours sa boat at ang 45mins delay sa port.

Salamat sa Yapak ni Jose Travel & Tours for taking care of us. On time sa meeting place, mas maaga pa kame nakarating sa Daet kesa sa nasa IT for breakfast.

Very maasikaso, masarap ang pagkain and mabaet ang coordinators (Myke and Riden) also our driver. And di nila kinalimutan ang request kong maraming ice and water. Thumbs up.

Na-miss ko rin tuloy ang RACE (Radical Adventure Concepts and Events), kase lahat ng package tour ko before sa kanila kame. And syempre, family na kame don.

South Bound

Standard

Spent the weekend in South. Went to Quezon Province with my travel buddies.

Heard of this island called Borawan in Quezon. Sabi nila, pinaghalong Boracay and Palawan, because of the rock formation and fine white sand. I guess they havent been to any of this place. Yes, ok din ang beach nila. May rock formation, pero not so much na kahawig ng mga nasa Palawan. No, not really white sand like the sand in Boracay. They have jelly fish on the three beaches na pinuntahan namin. Hindi naman marami, pero one of my friend got sting by a jelly fish sa Puting Buhangin.

Anyway, Ate Irma met with us pagbaba namin ng bus.  Bumaba kame in front of Vista Playa. Inihaw na tilapia, alimasag at ensaladang mangga.

Lunch

Lunch

Hinatid na kame sa bahay after eating. Nagpalit na kame ng swimsuits and went to Puting Buhangin. Kuya Hermie our boatman is Ate Irma’s brother, mabaet naman si kuya.

They have signal, kaya tuwang tuwa naman kame. We had halo-halo (P 30), masarap naman. Mineral water costs 15 (500ml) at malamig naman. Ok rin sa Borawan kase they have cottages, bathroom, net for volleyball, security guard, water sports, sari sari store and carinderia. The water in Borawan isnt clear as Puting Buhangin and Dampalitan.

Walang sunset in Borawan, natatakpan ng bundok. 😀

Pagbalik ng house, nag-wash up and nag-dinner. Ate Irma prepared inihaw na liempo and adobong manok. Sarap! Busog na naman kame. (no pic ng food sa kagutuman at excited kumain). After eating, pahinga saglit then shower. Tapos Sally, Cris and I went to the store para bumili ng inumin. Tanduay Ice and that flavored beer binili namin. We were all tired kaya di naman kame nakarami.

I was the first to wake up the next day. Merong Longganisa, sunny side up egg, rice, coffee. Busog! Around 9am, we’re of to Dampalitan Island.

Dampalitan Island

Water is clear, sand is creamy. With jelly fish pa rin. So no one even bothered to dip in the water. We just sat there, took pictures, ate halo halo. Chillax!

Around 12, we left Dampalitan and nag-ready pauwi. Super init lang no! Hahaha 1ish, we’re at Lucena na. Ate late lunch at Chowking. Dito na kame naghiwa-hiwalay. Sally and I rode the bus to Pasay. And it was traffic. Manila na kame around 8pm.

I had a great time.

Road trip to Dasol with my girlfriends

Standard

Holy Week 2014, plan namin lang puntahan ay Tondol Beach in Anda. But 2 days before the Holy Week, nagbago kame ng plan. Instead of Tondol, we went to Dasol. Read on other blogs kase that low tide in Tondol, parang most of the time lalo na summer.

So, a day before the Holy Week, naghanap na kame ng mga matutuluyan.

And so we left 3am. I drove from Manila to Mangatarem in Pangasinan. It was traffic sa NLEX, kala namin dahil na sa Holy Week kaya traffic. May accident pala. Isang oras din yon kaya I let them sleep muna.

In fairness kinaya ko nga. I asked Sally to drive na nung nasa Mangatarem kase nag-start nako masilaw, at teary eyed nako.

Stop over, inabot ata kame more than 10. Hahaha mga yosi break, wiwi break, at pagtatanong. We also dropped by sa bahay in Malindong, kase I told them meron masarap kainan sa may Binmaley.

We had lunch at Rudy-Jing Eatery, napakasaya lang. But we ordered inihaw na hito, tortang talong, adobong talaba, ginisang sayote, 3 rice and 3 fresh buko, naka 500 pesos lang kame.

Rudy-Jing Eatery

Nung Makarating kame ng Dasol, boy we were happy.

Yey

Yey

So, nagsimula na kame magkwentuhan at uminom. Syempre our fave Absolut. Around 11pm, we called it a night. Shower, and went to bed.

Woke up early the next day para sa aming island hopping. Nag-shower, at breakfast.

But, nakarating naman kame. We reached Tambobong White Beach after an hour or more ata. Almost lunch time na rin when we got there. Nag halo halo muna kame while waiting sa pinaluto naming lunch.

Dasol Route was kinda bumpy. So, kawawa naman si Grey. Better bring SUV na lang. Not bad naman, pero para lang wag kabahan like me. Pero pauwi, we accidentally took the Burgos Route, longer but much better.

Naligo, nagligpit. Umalis kame lunch time na rin. Namalengke rin sila ng mga pasalubong.

I had a short but awesome holy week get-away with my Best Friends!
