Henann Prime Beach Resort

Standard

Transferred to Henann Prime after checking out at DSB. And I love that when I left DSB I was with friends, sinama pa sila sa paghatid.

Checking in was smooth. Had to sign something lang and deposited P2000.

On my first night at Henann Prime, I booked for a Premier Room with Direct Pool Access.

I loooove my room!!! The room has well, a direct pool access, smart tv, a TUB!!!!, mini fridge, 2 beds, a nice bathroom and lighting. The resort is new. It only opened a week before my stay. So the duvet and sheets are still new. Yeah that new!!!

My issue on this hotel was, they dont give water in pitchers. And when I asked for bucket of ice, kailangan isoli right away coz sa resto pa yon galing. No mini bar, though di naman ako kukuha coz expensive sya. But at least may laman yung fridge. Also, on my second day, a/c was leaking. As in, halos buhos yun tumutulong water. And I dont have anything para saluhin yun water. Found out, most of our rooms, tumulo ang a/c on that day.

Nalungkot lang din ako on my second day sa hotel, coz typhoon Marce came, they closed the pool kase muntik na umapaw. Never ako nakapag swim at Henann, kahit 4 days ako nag-stay. Coz they opened it lang ulet was on sunday na, I was about to check out. Not their fault naman. So I have a reason para bumalik diba?!

Also, water on tub, unti unti nauubos. Hahahaha while I was bathing. And hot water, not that hot. So, few issues lang naman.

Also, the breakfast pala. Hmmm not so inviting. Di sya yun tipong pagkakita mo, kahit di ka gutom, magugutom ka or gusto mo kumain. They are on soft opening pa naman, so lets give them time.

At night when I went back to my room on my first day at the hotel, meron din sila turndown service, and saw fruits on my table. No utensils though. Hahaha

I transferred to Premier Room on my second night, its located on 4th floor, with pool view na lang. Hahaha I asked sana if I can stay na lang to my previous room since a lot naman ang na-cancelled ang flight due to typhoon and I will add na lang, but they said fully booked sila. Konti ng tao ah! hahaha

So there, no issues will stop me para bumalik sa hotel na to.

My Discovery Shores Experience

Standard

It was the best!

Why did I only booked one night at this posh hotel/resort?

My best friend is getting married at DSB. I wanted to book here and try to experience lang how to stay in a luxury hotel.

Early October they had a promo for November. Since I already booked at Henann Prime for my 4 days in Boracay, I booked my first night in Discovery Shores. So, I need to rebook my flight tuloy for November 24th to 23rd. But rebooking is expensive, I booked a new flight. Got lucky though, coz CebuPacific cancelled my flight on the 24th. Nakakuha ako ng refund 🙂

Anyway, I asked my dad if I can use the card and book my stay at DSB and will pay him na lang. He said yes, and I immediately confirmed my booking and paid right away.

I already imagined how I’m going to spend my first two days in Boracay.

I arrived at Caticlan on November 23rd at 6:30am. Found Ms. Julie waiting outside holding a DSB logo. I went to her and she said Ms. Vinluan? I said yes and she took my luggage, I told her ako na lang, but she said she has it.

She said we’ll wait for the van lang. And she gave me a bracelet with DSB logo. Ang cute.

Van came, and driver introduced himself as Ivan, greeted me a good morning and welcomed me. Siguro mga more than 5 minutes we arrived at the Fairways Welcome Center. Walang tao, ako lang. Hahaha

Ivan told me na we’ll wait for the boat lang be ready then alis na kame.

Few more mins, he went to me and said alis na kame, took my luggage and we walked. Introduced me to the boat driver (huhu I forgot kuya’s name 😦 ) he then took my luggage from Ivan and greeted me a good morning.

When we reached the boat, a lady was standing sa door holding a tray with cold towels. She offered ’em, took one coz nagpaa ako paakyat ng boat dahil may water and I dont know why pero I wore my Birkenstock kase.

Another lady approached me and handed me a bottled water and oatmeal cookie. I said thank you.

Then the boat attendant, Ms Grace introduced herself and welcomed me. Gave some instructions. And off we go.

We reached the jetty port in less than 10mins. They all said enjoy or something. Another driver, I think I heard he said his name was Audrey. He offered me mentos and greeted me. A little chit chat on the road. He showed me where Henann is located and said that pwede nila ako ihatid don when I check out at DSB. We reached DSB, everyone greeted me good morning again (hahaha totoo lang sa sobrang nice nila, napagod ako sumagot ng good morning and thank you sa kanila, but I love it. Kase ang babait nila). A guy gave me my welcome drink, and a girl named Nikka introduced herself and walked me to my room. She said that my room is available na (yey), and its only past 7. She showed me the room and gave me instructions and told me I can have my welcome foot wash later pag nakapag rest na ako. She asked for a P2500 deposit and left the room.

I looooooved my room, I booked for a Junior Suite, it has king size bed (well, one double and one single na pinagtabi), a day bed, a 42″ flat tv, mini bar, fridge, a/c, nespresso machine, etc. I took a nap, since wala pa akong tulog since Tuesday.

Naka 1 hour din ata ako ng nap. Later on met up with Sally and Len sa resto. Tapos we left na for lunch and I went back to my room gabi na. Waaah

When I got back, they prepared my room na rin for sleeping. Turndown service they say. I dont know, its my first time. Hahhaah

I love the animal made in towel in the day bed. They already served the pandan water and my welcome snacks.

Only took a shower coz I had to meet with the guys for a drink.

Went back to my room around 1. And I prepared myself to sleep.

Btw, had an issue with my bathroom. Water from drainage was overflowing and really smells bad. I called the front desk about it, pero walang dumating until I left that day eh. When I took a shower naman nung evening, ok sya. But the next morning, it overflowed again, I called the front desk again and sent someone from housekeeping. After checking, she said, may papapuntahin from I dont know where. But no one came. I even went to the front desk na rin to mention the problem pero wala talaga dumating to fix it. Until I checked out, so di ako nakapag shower.

But overall, I love my stay at Discovery Shores. I promise to go back.

  1. Boracay – my forever favorite island in the world (as of now coz I’ve never been to any beach outside Philippines. Oh except in 2002, when I was in the US nag-beach kame in Venice, not pretty hahaha). This was biglaan, as two of my long time friends planned in going. Kinulit ako and 2 days before the trip, I bought a roundtrip ticket.
  2. Baserri de Lipa – obviously, it is located in Batangas. This was a Holy Week panata with my bff’s. But since Sally was here for a short vacay only and no definite plans, Otchie looked for a place where we can spend our Holy Week.
  3. Nasugbu – another Batangas getaway. It was Jemjem’s birthday and we want to go to the beach lang. I told Alfie we can share na lang. Sya naman din talaga ang may gusto mag out of town. I am happy kase nag-enjoy naman si Jem, even si Brenda eh nakabakasyon.
  4. Laiya – guess what, Batangas again. Hahahaha it was our company outing, and ayaw masyado lumayo. We stayed at Kabayan Beach Resort, good thing they have available room. Yun lang, good for 20 people and 7 lang kame. I enjoyed naman kahit di ko ma-enjoy yun dagat. Ang dami pang tao.
But I just cant stop coming to Boracay. I was with the Avon peeps, we booked a tour with Yapak ni Jose! Ang saya kase solo namin ang van, and comfortable. Di ako nabitin sa water and ice.
  6. Dasol – Pangasinan. My second time here. Independence day holiday and nangangati nako maglakwatsa. Good thing, may gala sila Joyce and sinama ako. I had fun, and super tawanan yung trip.
  7. Magalawa Island – Zambales. I’ve heard about this couple of months before kame nakapunta rin. Buti sumama ako, ganda sya. And memorable yun trip because of my ATM moment.
  8. Cebu – my second time in Cebu. Biglaan. At least this time, nakapasyal ako. We went to two  of 90+ falls in Cebu. When I heard we’re going to the falls instead of the beach, na-sad ako sa totoo lang. But, di ko pa rin pinagsisihan kase I had fun! The trecking and sitting on that cliff just for a photo, was just liberating. I was too scared kase ayoko sa mga edges, pero ang saya!

Ang konti ng 2015 ko, but better than none. I wish for more travels in 2016.

Road trip to Dasol with my girlfriends

Standard

Holy Week 2014, plan namin lang puntahan ay Tondol Beach in Anda. But 2 days before the Holy Week, nagbago kame ng plan. Instead of Tondol, we went to Dasol. Read on other blogs kase that low tide in Tondol, parang most of the time lalo na summer.

So, a day before the Holy Week, naghanap na kame ng mga matutuluyan.

And so we left 3am. I drove from Manila to Mangatarem in Pangasinan. It was traffic sa NLEX, kala namin dahil na sa Holy Week kaya traffic. May accident pala. Isang oras din yon kaya I let them sleep muna.

In fairness kinaya ko nga. I asked Sally to drive na nung nasa Mangatarem kase nag-start nako masilaw, at teary eyed nako.

Stop over, inabot ata kame more than 10. Hahaha mga yosi break, wiwi break, at pagtatanong. We also dropped by sa bahay in Malindong, kase I told them meron masarap kainan sa may Binmaley.

We had lunch at Rudy-Jing Eatery, napakasaya lang. But we ordered inihaw na hito, tortang talong, adobong talaba, ginisang sayote, 3 rice and 3 fresh buko, naka 500 pesos lang kame.

Rudy-Jing Eatery

Nung Makarating kame ng Dasol, boy we were happy.

Yey

Yey

So, nagsimula na kame magkwentuhan at uminom. Syempre our fave Absolut. Around 11pm, we called it a night. Shower, and went to bed.

Woke up early the next day para sa aming island hopping. Nag-shower, at breakfast.

But, nakarating naman kame. We reached Tambobong White Beach after an hour or more ata. Almost lunch time na rin when we got there. Nag halo halo muna kame while waiting sa pinaluto naming lunch.

Dasol Route was kinda bumpy. So, kawawa naman si Grey. Better bring SUV na lang. Not bad naman, pero para lang wag kabahan like me. Pero pauwi, we accidentally took the Burgos Route, longer but much better.

Naligo, nagligpit. Umalis kame lunch time na rin. Namalengke rin sila ng mga pasalubong.

I had a short but awesome holy week get-away with my Best Friends!

Had fries and coke lang. We left na rin ng 9:30pm. I asked mag-convoy at igitna ako, di nangyari. March 14-16

It’s my second visit in La Union. Pero ngayon lang ako nakapasyal talaga in La Union. The first one kase, stayed lang in San Juan, surfing lang talaga ang pakay. Anyway, thanks to my Igers family and Herb, natuloy ang trip na to.

We left 9ish in the evening in Manila. And 4ish am, we’re at San Fernando, La Union na. We stayed at McDo and waited for Herb muna and nag-breakfast.

First stop: St. William Parish Church, photowalk lang saglit. On our way to PUGO Adveture, nadaanan ang Eagle Park, syempre di pwede walang picture.

At Pugo Adventure, I only tried Zipline 1, or Superman position. Its 400 meters long and 250 feet high. Kinda takot ako at first. I enjoyed it big time. Some of them naman tried the Zipline 3, and wall climbing. Uber init lang. And not expensinve ang bottled water ha (syempre important to saken).

Nag-shower na agad pagkabalik sa house. Kwentuhan, til nag-decide na to eat dinner. Ate the leftover from lunch, and bought pizza na lang don sa isang resto sa may resort katabi ng Urbiz Garden. La na naganap na inuman. Kase, napahaba ang kwentuhan about Kieth’s big bad news.

Ok, another trip that is not on my list. Biglaan ito. At eto na, talagang break in ni Grey.

Last week, Sally called me.. So 4 na kame. Then we asked Sarah if she wants to join, kase nung nag Palawan kame ni Sally, sabi nya sama sya on our next adventure.

Nag-start na kame humanap ng tutuluyan, and nag-search how to get there. Nag-depend kame on Google Map.

We decided to leave Manila ng madaling araw on friday.

Sally and I left home around 4. Met up with her officemate Len and husband Silver. Then, Sarah naman sa Eaton City at 5. Hahahaha pagpasok namin ng NLEX, napa yey ako coz first time ko mag-drive sa North.

Stopped at Shell para magpa-gas sana, kaso after namin pumila ng matagal eh wala pala silang premium. Sabi ni kuya, next gasoline station is Total. We had coffee na rin muna at Starbucks and nag-start na ng search sa map. Pare parehas lumabas samin na dadaanan. We left ng 7. Nakapagpa-gas kame at Total, after non si Sally na pinag-drive ko.

When we got to SCTEX, baket ganon ang traffic? 2 hours kame before nakalabas. At pila lang ng toll gate yon. After toll, hinanapp na namin kung san kame mag-exit. We were looking for Sta Rosa. And wala!!!! Umabot na kame ng TPLEX. We asked yun mga nasa toll how to get to Baler. They said we should’ve exit na sa Tarlac pa lang. Rosa daw. Anyway, syempre tinatawanan na lang namin. Almost lunch time na sya.

Nakarating kame ng Cabanatuan around lunch. Hinanap namin yun Puno’s Ice Cream. Napakaliit lang pala nya. Hahaha parang Dan Eric’s lang din. So, nothing special for me. Siguro I expected too much lang.

Puno's Ice Cream

Puno’s Ice Cream

After mag-ice cream, back to the road. Naghanap na ng kakainan. And wala na yata! Hhaha later on we saw this Henry’s Grill. Stop!!!! Went inside, nice ng place. Ordered and kumain. Mura na, dami pa. Busog! Hahaha

Happy Busog!

Happy Busog!

04After this, the adventure begins! Sarah drove from here to Baler. After eating masasaya pa kame eh. After few mins, tinahak na namin ang malubak na daan ng Tarlac-Aurora High way. 4pm kame nag-start, nakalabas kame ng 8pm.

That rough road is one hell of a… rough road! hahaha sinusumpa ko yang dinaanan naming yan. Hirap nakikinig sa google map eh. Nung una nakakatawa pa kame eh. Later on, natahimik nako. Nagdadasal. It took us 4 hours ata sa rough road na yan, to think yan pa raw ay short cut. Nakalabas kame sa bundok na yan ng 9. Dumating kame ng Sabang around 9:40. Nag-check in, at nice naman yun house. Merong 3 beds sa taas. Ang baet pa kase nagbigay extra pillow and water dispenser. Kaya nakatipid ako sa water. Bathroom is downstairs. Pwede magluto coz may kitchen.

After ibaba ang mga gamit, lumabas na kame for dinner. I wasnt that hungry. I ordered Mango Shake lang.

We were given this to die for dessert. Recommended!!

Free Chocolate Chip Brownie with Caramelized Banana

Free Chocolate Chip Brownie with Caramelized Banana

After nila kumain, we went back to Yellow Fin to pre-order our breakfast the next day. Then back to our room. Wash up, kwentuhan saglit. And went to bed.

Day 2.
Woke up early and punta na ng Yellow Fin, kase 7:30am namin sinabi i-serve. And after eating went back sa room ulet to change. At yon, ready na sila to surf.

IMG_0498
Nagbanlaw, nagbayad.

Kase gusto ulet namin nung melted chocolate chip. Nag-share kame ni Sally sa food. It says on the menu that good for sharing sya, kinda bitin if gutom ka. Pero ok lang naman.

Baler bbq mixed plate

Syempre nag-order nga ulet kame ng melted chocolate, at naka dalawa kame. Yummy eh!!!

Ayun, after kumain pumasyal na kame. We went to Museo de Baler, Baler Church, Dona Aurora Aragon Quezon House.

And went to our new place na. Di ako sure san sya exactly, didnt bother to take photo nung place kase di ko sya type. Air conditioned yun room, mura ang house kase they have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, may kichen, sala and veranda. Pero kung tinamad lang rin lang sila linisin yun house before magpa-upa at di nauubos ang lamok, thank you na lang.

We went back sa Sabang for dinner.
